Sunday 13th November is Remembrance Sunday, a day when the nation stops to remember those who have served our country.
In honour of those brave men and women each game which takes place this weekend will be preceded by a minute's silence.
As teams prepare to mark the occasion Luke Plastow, Head Coach of the BNU Buccaneers, spoke to the buafl.net:
'Remembrance Sunday is an important time of year for all but it has particular resonance here at BNU. We have had former players go on to serve in the armed forces with one having recently completed his second tour of Afghanistan.'
Plastow continued 'For the third year running we will be wearing a poppy decal and making a donation to the Royal British Legion.'
The Buccaneers fixture sees them face the champion Destroyers who will also be wearing the special decals courtesy of the Buccaneers.
Caleb Jackson, BAFA Director for Student Club Management welcomed the move. 'This is a great community initiative by the Buccaneers and a move which ensures the team reflects the mood of the nation.'
