Coaches will be recruited with the aid of the British American Football Coaches Association and applicants will be screened by the BAFCA.
All National Team coaches will have to be BAFCA members, be BAFCA qualified and have adequate coaching insurance. (During the start-up phase, the National Programme Director may waive this requirement if the coach in question gives a firm commitment to fulfil these requirements within a short time-span).
When selecting a coach the following criteria will be taken into consideration:
- · Membership of BAFCA
- · BAFA disciplinary record
- · Experience in position applied for
- · Level of BAFCA qualification
- · Commitment and availability to attend practices, events and meetings.
(NB. Coaches applying should be prepared to commit for not less than two years)
Candidate coaches may be asked to attend an interview.
Other factors effecting coach selection may include:
- · Experience gained working with other football programmes or positional coaching
- · Observation camps attended
- · References
