GB Lions Senior Camp Confirmed

December 4th and 5th will see the first weekend camp for the Lions on the road to Sweden.

The venue for the camp will be Crystal Palace National Sports Stadium in London. The site provides indoor and outdoor training facilities with housing on site.

The National programme is taking player education one step further by giving lectures on training methods, lifting weights correctly and nutrition, as well as putting the players through their paces.

Players who are not already part of the Lions team are invited via the head coach of their clubs, to seek direct recommendation to the National programme. As laid out at the coaches’ convention the method for this is as follows, the player and head coach together will fill out the Elite Player Programme sheet which gives personal details and measurements and forward them to the National Programme.

As we are 4 weeks away from this camp, a simple e-mail direct to NPcomms@ bafa.org .uk with the following details will be accepted for consideration.:

Name and full contact details

Age, height and weight

Position, speciality and years experience

Returning players are also asked to confirm this camp on the above address. It should be noted that this camp is limited to 60 places and the cut off date is the 20th of Nov’04. All inquires should be made in writing.

The housing will be B&B, Saturday evening meal and lunch on Sunday. Players are expected to arrive at 11-00 am sharp on Saturday and should leave no later than 4-00pm, on Sunday. The cost for this weekend is £50-00 paid in advance.

If you are a coach or administrator and would like to join the NP write directly to NPDirector@bafa.org.uk. Observer coaches are also welcome. Now is a great opportunity for any individual who can commit to a programme, that’s ethos is education and improvement, to make a difference in our game. In order to move forward a cross section of people are needed from flag football to senior tackle.
