The British American Football Association is delighted to announce the election of Tom Burridge to the Governance Review Steering Group and the release of Sub Group submission forms.

Following the recent online elections BAFA is delighted to announce that Tom Burridge has been elected to the Steering Group of the Governance Review. Andy Fuller, BAFA Director for Student Football Development and Governance Review Policy Panel member welcomed the result

I would like to welcome Tom to the Steering Group. I have no doubt that his history and experience within the sport, allied to his business background, will provide a great platform for him fulfilling the role very effectively.

Fuller added We have received a number of emails relating to the workings of the Sub Groups and a series of expressions of interest in advance of the forms being published. BAFA welcomes the involvement of the membership in these groups. The knowledge which our members can bring, built upon the varied experiences of developing football on a local, regional or national level, will serve the sport well as we seek to set the strategy and frameworks to underpin future development.

In addition to the forms, BAFA have released a diagram based upon the work undertaken by UK Sport in their modernisation programme, which shows the principle roles of a Governing Body. This is intend to guide members' decision making when both considering their formal involvement through the Sub Groups or when making valued suggestions to these groups later in the process.

Full details of the voting results and the verification procedure will appear in the first of the Policy Panel periodic reports - provisionally due in mid August.
