The Great Britain Lions have defied the odds and have won the B Championships in Amiens, France with a stunning 18-17 victory over France on Saturday Night.
The French took a 7-0 first quarter lead and then forced GB Quarterback Adam Lane out of the game on a play which drew a personal foul against the French. Despite the expectation that this would stop the Brits, the rest of the team rallied behind backup quarterback, Pete Rogers from Gateshead who threw 2 touchdown passes to Mark Squire and Tamas Byrne. He also kicked the game winning field goal with 38 seconds remaining.
The Lions will now progress to the A Championship next year, joining Germany, Sweden and Finland.
