GB Lions Head Coach Riq Ayub has accepted an invitation from the Bavarian American Football Association to address a Coaching Clinic in Regensburg, Germany. It marks the second occasion upon which Coach Ayub has been invited to speak in Germany, arguably the most progressive nation within European American Football, after a successful engagement  in 2007.

Ayub, who has also previously been a guest speaker with the burgeoning Irish American Football Association, will be concerntrating specifically on delivering a comprehensive overview of the  4-4 blitzing defence which he has successfully run over the years with both the GB Lions and the London Olympians. President of the AFVBy Martin Hanselman  said  “ We are looking forward to Coach Ayub’s visit. He is one of the most successful coaches in Europe and did a great job the last time he was here .His energy enthusiasm and knowledge will be appreciated”.
The Lions Head Coach will be will be in great company with some of Europe's top coaches. Former NFLE coach Shaun Fatah now Head Coach of reigning EFAF Cup Champions Berlin Adler and Matthias Engisch offensive coordinator of German champions the Braunschweig Lions are also on the bill. Ayub will be particularly keen to catch up with Engisch and check on the progress of former Olympians running back Michael Andrew.

Last season Andrew was MVP of the prestigious German Bowl, traditionally the best attended game in the European calender, which gave his former Coach a great deal of pride. Ayub beamed “It always gives you a kick when a young man goes and shines elsewhere and I’m hoping coach Engisch will tell me he was a model player”. Equally Coach Ayub was thrilled with the success of another former Olympian. Wide receiver Marvin Allen has spent this past season with Superbowl XLIII Champions the Pittsburgh Steelers “The great thing here is that this is Marvin’s dream team as he was growing up, he was a fan and to be a member of the team is just magnificent, although I’m quite certain Marvin would have wanted to be on the field doing his bit”.

After a recent victory over France Ayub is certainly excited about this weekend “the AFVBy for a young organisation have gone from strength to strength this clinic will be their biggest and most diverse presentation”. Coach Ayub is himself looking to learn from other speakers to help continue the progress of the BAFA GB Lions as they build towards the European Championships in 2010.
