In light of recent work by BAFA Director and BAFCA president, Jim Messenger, with Sports Coach UK, the BAFA has decided to update its Whole Sport Plan (WSP) in-line with UK Coaching Framework developments.
Reporting on these developments, Jim commented, "This review of our Coach Development Strategy (CDS) within the Whole Sport Plan compliments our growing understanding of developments within the UK Coaching Framework. The partnerships we are building with sports coach UK and other sports will accelerate our development of a high quality coaching system for the sport."
In addition, BAFA WSP Manager, Ken Walters, has also taken the opportunity to update the WSP with the projects that have reached planning, execution and closure. Speaking on developments, Ken added, "A great deal of work has been going on behind the scenes with many projects. This update (issue 1.1) reports on these areas and is additional to the anticipated report planned for September/October 2008".
Finally, it is important to note that the update also takes into consideration the recent resignation of BYAFA from the BAFA board. This area of the sport will now be managed by BAFL Youth (a department of the BAFL) whilst this member body undergoes a re-structure to accommodate the new members.
Speaking on this re-structure, BAFL Chairman, Glen Schild, commented, "The BAFL has recently received a unanimous approval from its incumbent members to amend its constitution to accommodate new members. Teams from what are currently participating in BAFL Flag and BAFL Youth will be invited to a meeting in June to receive the findings and outcomes of the company".
