Ken commented, “It was great to spend time with colleagues from other sports. In particular, it was interesting to hear the challenges we have are common throughout sports in Great Britain and learning about the different ways other sports are addressing these challenges - this was valuable knowledge gained in a complimentary environment”.

The event included presentations by the Rt. Hon. Tessa Jowell MP (Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport), Hugh Robertson MP (Shadow spokesman for Sport and the Olympics), Don Foster MP (Liberal Democrat Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport), Rt. Hon. Caroline Flint MP (Minister for State for Public Health), Derek Mapp (Chair, Sport England), Dr. Sue Campbell (Chair, UK Sport) and Mihir Bose (Sports Editor, BBC).

Ken added, “One can do a tremendous amount of reading on numerous topics generated by many government bodies and agencies. However, hearing these topics first hand gave them a greater clarity and relevance - it was very rewarding experience.”

In addition to meeting colleagues from other sports, Ken had the opportunity to network with a number of the CCPR enterprise partners and valued partners. On meeting these partners, Ken commented, “Subject to further discussions, I am confident the BAFA will be able to benefit from a number of the partnerships the CCPR have developed”.

The BAFA would like to take the opportunity to congratulate all at the CCPR for an excellent event - the BAFA look forward with anticipation to attending the 36th Convention.
